Locmiquélic, a maritime town throughout history, an old fishing village, borders the banks of the Blavet and the bay of Lorient for 7 km. A unique view over the whole of the bay of Lorient with the Island of Groix in the background can be had from the top of the Pen Mané fort (18^th century). The pleasure harbours in Locmiquélic have grown in importance and there are 400 places on the pontoons in its two ports of Pen Mané and Sainte Catherine.
